This is Prema, the brains behind The Sticky Pot. Prema describes herself as a maker, a mother, a wife, and a businessperson. If Prema is the brains, her husband is the brawns - Prema describes him as her “errand and muscle man” and the person that keeps her grounded when she needs it most.
Prema’s The Sticky Pot story began more than 10 years ago when she created her first batch of preserves: her now famous ‘Spicy Mango Chutney.’ Adored by family and friends, every year as the mango season would approach, this humble mango preserve was in increasing demand, as everyone would anxiously await Prema’s fresh batch of homemade chutney.
With the success of her mango chutney and the application of more than ten years of knowledge gained working in the hospitality industry, alongside professional chefs, Prema began to experiment with new flavour combinations for her family and friends to sample.
Fast forward to today and the team at The Sticky Pot has expanded their range of fresh, homemade jams, preserves and chutneys to a variety of tasty flavours, including blueberry and coconut jam, grapefruit and yuzu marmalade and Spanish onion and corn relish, to name a few.
Prema is thrilled to be able to share her passion for food and the versatility of The Sticky Pot’s range. Whether it is in a sandwich, served generously with cheese, in a stir-fry or shaken up in a cocktail while entertaining friends, there is no shortage of ways to enjoy The Sticky Pot’s range of quality preserves, chutneys and jams.
