Sheree and Saul Sullivan are the creators and purveyors of handmade cow and goat’s milk cheeses in their cheesery and cheese cellar located in Lobethal in the pristine Adelaide Hills. Udder Delights (as it’s delightfully called) was established in 1999 by Sheree’s parents as a humble, local goat cheese factory. But today, the entrepreneurial cheese-making couple, Sheree and Saul, supply their gorgeous, handcrafted cheeses Australia wide. And trust us—the world is all the better for it!

The Udder Delights team begin their cheese making by bringing together the best milk from the best local diaries in the Adelaide Hills and down through the Fleurieu Peninsula. They understand that it’s the hard work and dedication of local farmers that is the first step in creating truly great tasting cheeses. And Udder Delights’ cheeses are just that. ‘Rich’ and ‘creamy’ are words synonymous to their cheese offerings, and they attribute that first and foremost to great quality milk. 

Great milk is just the start, of course. And Udder Delights also benefit from fantastic cheesemaking experience and creative innovation. It’s this combination of skills that brought us King Saul, Australia’s first unpasteurised blue cheese (handcrafted by head cheese maker, Saul, naturally!). In addition to their other moreish goat’s cheese products (think chèvre and goat curd), the popular cheesery also offers seven delicious cow's milk cheeses, including brie, camembert, ash and blue. Everyone will find something to love, we guarantee it!


For Udder Delights keeping it about the community is part of what makes them who they are. When the original cheese factory built by Sheree’s father was no longer big enough for their operations they simply moved to a larger factory in the Onkaparinga Woollen Mill. Keeping their factory local brings employment opportunities to their community, and Udder Delights now employs over 50 staff from the area.

But it doesn’t stop there. ‘Cheese queen’, Sheree caters to the local community through her very popular cheese making courses. Udder Delights’ online shop showcases other local producers and provides their customers with satisfying, drool worthy recipes. Their milk and cheese making products are brought in from local suppliers. And they have beautiful collaborations with other local artisans, including a wine matching program with Adelaide Hills’ Chain of Ponds winery.

Lush and leafy, it’s renowned for its cool climate wines and delicious artisan dairy products, such as cheese, ice cream, yoghurt and milk chocolate. In fact, while it was once known primarily for its scenery and tranquillity, Adelaide Hills has fast become the foodie hotspot of South Australia!

Spring brings blooming apple and pear orchards and visitors can come along for cherry and strawberry picking in the summer. Of course, autumn means that it’s time for apples and figs plus the stunning autumnal views. And when winter hits, you might even get a flurry of snow at Mount Lofty Summit. This area has something for everyone, no matter the season.
