2017 Art Collection Cabernet Franc
Created with fruit grown on beautiful old vines in the Barossa Valley by the Zerk family. Cabernet Franc has less tannin and is more aromatic than Cabernet Sauvignon. Raspberry and five spice flavours. In the Barossa Valley, there are only around 33 Hectares of this grape remaining and Jo Irvine works very closely with her growers to ensure this variety stays planted.
2014 Mosaic Collection Anubis Cabernet Sauvignon
This one has picked up some banging gongs around the world, so let's get it on. Cab Sav is still one of Australia's favourites but when you get someone like Jo Irvine creating it, you'll soon realise you've been doing this drop all wrong. Jo personally selects the fruit from a single vineyard in Eden Valley and then matures it for 24months in French oak before bottling. It will ruin every other Cab Sav for you. But then again, you'll have a new love.
2016 Art Collection Chardonnay
A great chardonnay with a few years on it gives this wine far more character than a "store-bought" one. Plucked from the elevated regions of Eden Valley, serve this cool with a pizza topped with smoked salmon and capers. Deeeelish!
MV Mosiac Collection Mistelle Fortified Semillon
The era of ports and dessert wines is making a resurgence as winemakers, like Jo Irvine, create specimens that are in touch with the modern palette. This thing is delicious and light. The grapes are only partially fermented then fortified with spirit. From there it gets aged for 9 years in French barrels and bottled 12months prior to release. Seriously... Who has that patience? Serve chilled with your cheese board at the end of a great meal and simply lean back and enjoy the company.
